A Selection of Aromatic Plants

We work with the best partners to use only the best of the plants, flowers and spices that go into the composition of Anis Lyonnais. Once at the distillery, each supply is carefully evaluated and micro-distillations are carried out in order to adjust and best express the profile of each ingredient. This unique know-how guarantees the consistent quality of our product.

The Mastery of Aromas

At the Lyon Distillery, we create, extract, concentrate and harmonize the recognizable aromas of Anis des Gones. This process requires great mastery and a lot of patience, because every detail counts. When cool water is added, the abundant essential oils of anise and other plants create a characteristic white opacity called "squinting."

Manufacturing process

The distillate is carefully worked until the last second, then it is rested for optimal aromatic development. It is then reduced (reducing the degree of alcohol for consumption), colored thanks to maceration of a mixture of plants, and slightly sweetened before being bottled.

Anis des Gones - BLUE

A frank, fresh and powerful fragrance, Anis des Gones Blue is an aperitif full of character and elegance. Made from 17 distilled plants and maceration for its coloring, it is very slightly sweet, which makes it refreshing and refined. Purists and anise lovers will discover a unique product that breaks traditional codes.

Anis des Gones -  RED

Expressive, complex and soft, Anis des Gones Red offers a more rounded and structured style. Made from 24 mainly distilled plants and a more careful maceration, it is slightly sweeter for a soft and delicious result. Easy to understand, this recipe with its complex bouquet will appeal to all curious pastis lovers.e

Manufacturing Process

It creates, extracts, concentrates, fixes and harmonizes the recognizable aromas of Anis des Gones. This requires great mastery and a lot of patience: the smallest detail makes the difference.

It is at this stage that the abundant essential oils of anise and other plants are collected until saturation, the latter will later make your Pastis squint* intensely when fresh water is added.

* Squinting: Opaque whitening when water is added, characteristic of alcohols rich in essential oils
